“It was a really good moment, after all was said and done. There was the pressure of playing solo in a hockey arena which was exponentially made heavier by it being a live broadcast. About halfway through the song an enormous sound of feedback filled the arena and the audience began yelling like it was a basketball game. I stopped playing, pretty bewildered, to figure out what was happening. I leaned down to ask one of the techs what was going on and he smiled up at me, calm as anything, and said “we’re still live, girl”. His calm is what I credit with feeling no problem to just pick up where I left off and finish the song. There’ve been lots of occasions since where I’ve been glad that happened to me.
