Some late night transmissions came into the house last night, rattling the counter. The phone tapped out these messagegrams, sent from a crisp deck:
"...a small white boat in the black sea...ice skyscrapers silent until cracking like gunfire...wet socks...saunas with Sophie...dogs outnumber people...saw Aurora Borealis tonight for the first time...made a wish...heading further North...no more reception...xoxo F"

I think Leslie should write a book. She would be damn good at it. I just read one of her post on the website and her imagery is amazing.

I spent the last 42 yrs in the Gronland dream and so have worked across the arctic from Alaska to Disko n Ummannaq but I always go back to Greenland. I used to guide ski prospect dig(archaeology)in the north but now I work w kids in the schools helping elders help the kids w oldways n esteem. Music fashion bloggin rappin connecting at the sametime as building a skin kayak is what now engages the kids who live in the melting land. I can't wait to hearnsee what the GL dream sparks in u over the years and maybe we could use some of ur work to spark the kids. We just got back from 2 wks in Disko as u n the quiet snow settled there--and I'm still processing in drawings n ideas for the school workshops. Take care w ur processing n the shock of 'the city'. Will try to see u sat night. I live in/near calgary. Thanks for ur inspir. Don Gardner

Just saw the Calgary show, the visual artists were amazing/mesmerizing. Along with the music we often felt like we were in a meditation. Amazing, feel lucky to have been able to see and hear it. Thank you, thank you!
