With Hayden
Send us your video so we can add it to the site.
I am 62 and have not been to a pop/rock concert in over 30 years. This was one to remember. Feists' energy level was amazing. Few solo singers can maintain this energy over the course of an hour and a half show; she can and did. The live performance sounded so much better than the CD: rich and vibrant. She quickly developed rapport with the audience, and they loved her. I just wish that she had another tour date somewhere in the region. For anyone who reads this I would strongly recommend going to her concert if given an opportunity to do so. Lest anyone be put off by the musings of someone from the older generation, the crowd consisted of mostly young people and they enjoyed her as much as my wife and I.
Absolutely Awesome...I am a musician and a lover of music in general. I have seen many concerts over the years from Pink Floyd to BB king. I have been listening to Feist for the past 6 months or so. This show has definitely made my top five list. The live performance was better than the recorded versions I have herd. The staging and the visual presentation that was provided (not to give it away) was very cool as well. The opening of the show was one of the most beautiful moments in a live performance I have been able to be a part of. The sound that she coached the audience into singing was absolutely ethereal. I hope she enjoyed Asheville, I know we loved to see her and hope it is not long before we get the chance to see her again here in the mountains.
Sunday April 20th was a special night in Asheville. It's well known that Feist's recordings have a unique and beautiful sound, but her live performance, at least that night, had it even moreso. The show was very entertaining all-around, and included lots of audience interaction and participation. A couple songs into her set, she got everyone on their feet and transformed the experience from a "recital" to a "gig". All the classics got played, and one truly learned that everything she does is a classic. Secret Heart would've been awesome to hear, but as was mentioned above, this was a robust set and encore already. I won't soon forget it. Hayden was a great opener, too.
I saw Feist last summer at Bonnaroo, and I must say she was the highlight of the entire festival for me. I was so excited when I saw that she was coming to Asheville, and through a bit of luck we ended up in the sixth row. She was everything I'd hoped for and more. I was excited to see Hayden as well, I think he's awesome and he was a very good choice of opener for her.
Back to Feist though. She was so full of energy, so fun, so lively! I was most excited when she did "The Water" in the encore. It was really beautiful.
Also, the crowd was a pretty decent one! I was gearing myself up before the show because I'd read several reviews of recent shows which painted the crowds as loud and rude. I get really furious and have to contain myself when a paying audience disrespects the artists - I mean wtf?? I try not to let it ruin my experience, but I can't help it! So I was really relieved when we arrived during Hayden's set and realized how respectful the crowd was. It made the night even better. She even commented that we'd been much better than the crowd the night before who had pretty much made her suicidal. PEOPLE, PLEASE!! RESPECT THE ARTISTS!! Okay, off my soapbox now. I love Feisty Feist.
