I had the honour of being in the very front row of Feist's concert last night at the Ottawa Bluesfest. Words can not even explain how great yesterday's show was. All the visual effects enhanced the performance so much; it made the concert not only as auditory experience but a magnificent visual one as well. At one point Feist forgot how to play "So Sorry" for a few moments. When she finally started playing, she turned the concept of the song around and began to sing to the audience that she was sorry about her slip-up. This made her all the more charming and human in our eyes. Even all through the show she kept a connection with the audience by making us sing key parts of her songs. Like in "1234" hse made us sing the "oh-oh-oh (he's breaking your heart), oh-oh-oh (you know who you are)" part. She also seemed tgo be so appreciative of us, even alluding a few times of the fiasco on Canada Day last year. She was saying how much better her present experience was.
The part the really all made us jump with joy was when she said that she was planning to come back to Ottawa in the Fall and was hoping that we, the audience, could fill up "this big weird-shaped room in which people play hockey sometimes". She was indirectly announcing that she will be playing at Scotiabank Place! It is the biggest concert hall around! The crowd went wild. I could definetly tell you that I will be there front and center, because yesterday's concerts was one of the most amazing moments of my life. I was so impressed that I went to the gift shop and bought all the Feist merch they had!
