Send us your video so we can add it to the site.
I was at the show in San Diego and I could not believe how rude you were about the security. They are there for your protection and safety of others. You stood on stage and talked bad about them doing their job, and by you saying that you told the crowd they can do what they want. You should stick to your songs and leave the rest to the pros.
I feel the responsibility of sharing my experience with the world wide web.
I loved the whole show, from beginning to end. The intro was amazing. "Help is on its way." The two girls in charge of the visual effects were so creative. You're best host ever. The snowing effect was funny.
The only one thing that I didn't like was the security. They were being real jerks, JERKS! But then you sticked it to the man like a true punk rocker would.
As closing remarks, I would've like you playing more songs from Let it Die, like "One Evening" or "Secret Heart" or "Inside & Out" or "Tout Doucement." But whatever. Amazing amazing show anyways. I just can't shut up about it. I really can't. Am I going crazy? Feist makes me crazy.
BRAVO FEIST, BRAVO!
You were STELLAR...It was awesome seen you...Ive been a fan of yours for a long time.
but you shut come to Tijuana B.C Mx next time..people is more chill.
p.s and please dont do seated shows again, i was worried all the time for the people behind me...i couldnt dance or move..cuz people was to lazy to stand and dance.
Security people weren't being jerks. They were very cool and slow to respond. Feist obviously didn't understand the situation. My wife and I spent big bucks to sit in the second row and it was our one summer spend-all. When a bunch of $10 ticket holders from the back stormed up the isle to the front and stood in the isle we couldn't see a thing except other people's butts. That didn't seem real fair. I heard several other people up front ask the security guards if they could please have the people go back to their seats because we couldn't see a thing and it was true. The people standing in the isle became very hostile to us and the security people making threats and many insults, and flipping us off. I thought they (security) did a great job keeping everything cool as it was about to get out of hand.
Beyond that it was a really great show. Feist is really a special person.
hey corey let her do her thing by sticking it to the man the only people that were rude were the securtiy guards and that is there job to be joykills there is no sense going to go see her play if you cant go to the front thats the venues fault its not hers i was there you did an awsome show thanks for keeping it real and dont let people like corey discourage you.

hey corey and jake let her do her thing by sticking it to the man the only people that were rude were the securtiy guards and that is there job to be joykills there is no sense going to go see her play if you cant go to the front thats the venues fault its not hers i was there you did an awsome show thanks for keeping it real and dont let people like corey and jake discourage you.
ps. jake was your wife the one with the kickin six pack and are you sixty?
Ed, not sixty, no. LOL! I had no problem with the people going up front. The ones in the isle kept stepping on us and blocking our view. I never saw the security people being rude. The people in the isle definately were. One guy yelled, "you fxxxing bitch" right into the woman's face sitting in front of me. Very rude. I don't think you could have been there Ed. How did you miss it?
oh ok well i was on the right side and i didnt see that but i moved up to the front on the last two songs when the security guards were just basically done trying to stop the people but its still not cool to stop people from going to the front when its a concert
Feist your show was awesome! I thought you handled the situation the best you could given the circumstances. I had a great time, keep up the good work Feist!!!
I admit it: I am 51 years old, and the only Feist song and video I have is 1-2-3-4. I expected to celebrate my upcoming birthday with my wife at a "pop" concert. I was very, very wrong: Feist is an extremely talented artist whose songs range from pop to rock to ballads...all offered with an extraordinary vocal range and beautiful backdrop graphics. She's left the U.S. for a while ("I won't be back until I write twelve new, good songs and release a new album..."), but when she returns, she is a must-see artist.
OK - I have been to Humphreys before. Extraordinary, intimate - you know the venue. The yellow-jacketed security team was doing their job extremely well (hardly noticed 'em) until Feist launched into a hard rock number. About 40 women and three men - fans - rushed the stage to dance. Security allowed a few through to stage front, but by song's end, had cleared the front of the stage to the sides - calmly and professionally. Feist noted that fact when she joked, "The yellow jackets need this space (stage front), because they have been rehearsing a dance routine all week..." It worked. Feist's humor translated to the audience, we all laughed, and many applauded. Feist and security were both on the same page - all was well.
But a few songs later, something obviously changed in the security staff's instructions over their headsets. Never aggressive nor physical, they now refused all from rushing the stage. And Feist became feis-ty with the security staff, making anti-security comments from the stage. It didn't get physically ugly - but it was very obvious that this could have been avoided.
If security maintained the same line from the beginning - keeping stage front entirely clear - them we would have respected that, and I believe all would have been well. But by first allowing dancing up front, and then denying it, well, the slightly inebriated crowd was confused. And Feist has been touring North America for some six years - she KNOWS the value of security. I didn't understand security's change of tactics, and I certainly didn't underfstand Feist's anti-security comments from the stage.
Overall, it was an extremely gratifying evening. Again, this is a performer whose range in material was amazing.
i think its obvious why she said those anti security comments she wants the people to enjoy themselves and not be restricted from doing so especially when she said "flashing flashlights into peoples faces is just not very polite" she didnt understand why it was a problem for the people to go to the front she has toured the US a significant amount of times and and she does know that the security there is to protect her from crazy fans from going ONTO the stage not from going to the front. This venue was horrible i mean come on lawn chairs, this venue is only good if your 51 years old and you want to see a jazz concert.
$10 ticket holders? Seriously.. I paid $45 for my back row ticket. And although I was stuck by the bar and a bunch of yappity yappers.. Feist and the visual effects artists pulled me in. It was amazing. I loved what she did with the stage and the visuals. I saw her 2 yrs ago at the belly up and fell in love, and my love continues to grow. Her voice is spine chillingly beautiful. Her sense of humour had me in tears from laughing so hard (I was one of the 9 ppl that got her jokes). Such a gorgeous show. Humphreys is kinda a sucky venue, uptight yuppies that want to sit there like they are at a dinner show. But it didn't stop me from being completely sucked into the performance. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!! ~ Annie
Feist is a truly amazing artist, and this was my first time seeing her. I would see her again in a heartbeat, only hopefully at a different venue. To be certain, all the shenanigans being discussed here have nothing to do with the artist or the unique show that was planned.
Also, the opening band rocked it. I loved their Paul McCartney cover, I think it was. When they were brought out to get down with Feist and her band before their brief break, it was pretty thrilling.
Humphrey's by the Bay, however, was pretty atrocious.
Unfortunately, looking the crowd at this show, you had to wonder why they were there. Do these people have season tickets to Humphrey's or something? Were they surprised people were enthusiastic about the artist? Where they really so reluctant to stand up during the finale of this concert that they would get upset about this situation? I don't know why they were there, but they were expecting a very different kind of show. Like someone said, "dinner theatre."
And then there was the security. Ok, they have to pay the bills and we can't give them too hard a time, but I can see exactly why Feist would do what she did: Every time the excitement built, security shut it down. They herded those who were feeling the music most back to their seats every time it really got going. That must have been pretty frustrating from the stage, especially when trying to awaken such a sleepy and — how should I put this — somewhat older crowd than she may be used to.
To debate ticket prices and complain about having to stand up at a concert (when so many are doing so) is petty and silly. Sadly, people maybe thought purchasing the most expensive tickets at this horribly corporate and conservative venue meant they had to ward off the peasants.
I'm so happy that Feist encouraged people to go to the front. It made for an exciting (if not somewhat contentious) end to the evening. Some others, frankly, where at the wrong show if they had such a problem with what was happening.
Thank you Feist! I only hope there is no love lost for San Diego.
I was totally unfamiliar with Feist before going to the concert so I was nervous about the turn out of the evening. The show was awesome, she's part comedian as well as a great singer.
The security is always stuffy, I think she was trying to lighten things up and get people to rally for fun. I personally like Humphries though they could spread the chairs out a bit more so that we are not sardines in a can.
I LOVE YOU LESLIE!!!!
