I bought 10 tickets to this show and me and my friends looked forward to it for months! It was a blast, while we only caught a glimpse of the awesome stage show while standing near the pavilion, you sounded AMAZING! The charm of Ravinia is having a fabulous picnic and drinks under the stars while listening to great music. The schedule just came out for tihs summer and I am bummed to not see you on the schedule. I hope you'll come somewhere near chicago this summer! Jae
"I had no idea I would was going to stumble into a meadow... And then stumble over to a... what was the lake called again? Champlain... yeah... champignon... mushroom lake."
Fantastic concert, I already knew Feist and her music, but this was the first time seeing her and the superb band live on stage...well certain concerts and songs you will remember for the rest of you life THIS WAS ONE OF THEM !!!
I was there in good company and a night out of thousands...thanx Lesley
If you ever have the chance to see her perform..GO AND SEE !!!
Also attended teh concert in Paradiso Amsterdam a year later and was even more impressed.
Feist played this moving version of Intuition at the Metro Sydney 2008.
Her words before the song aren't the clearest so here's the gist:
It's been a long time since I played this song the reason is because usually people are very chatty and I just avoid.. yknow it's like when you don't know if someone likes you, you're not going to say "I LOVE you". And this song is kinda like saying I love you audience and often I just don't feel safe enough to do that, but tonight I feel.. I feel like I can tell you, I love you Sydney. You're very lovely.
Feist jokes about trying to interpret the aussie accent after hearing a couple of guys talk in a lift. Also comments on the phrase "sweet as" which apparently becomes "sweet ass" (sweet arse) when canadians such as Broken Social Scene say it. Vid ends with her asking for audience participation for her next song 1 2 3 4. At her Sydney gig at the Metro 2008
Feist talks about Jim Henson and Kermit the Frog and jokes about degrassi high in Sydney at the Metro 2008.
Something along the lines of the following (some bits have been left out):
*Feist starts singing The Rainbow connection for a laugh but then realises she doesn't know "how to play this right now". Then changes the lyrics to "... the day I watched Big Bird singing It's not easy being green at Jim Henson's funeral"
*crowd ooohs*
Band member questions: Big Bird? (as in it was Big Bird singing? It's Kermits song)
Feist: Big Bird sang at Jim Hensons funeral (Band dude: no shit!), Kermies funeral (Jim Henson was voice of Kermit). It's not easy being green... a big yellow bird" (ironic). You'd need a lot of paint for big bird to be green.
*laughter*
I thought that was a beautiful thing... you should watch it, it is a tear jerker... if you know what we're talking about when I talk about Kermit... right?? Anyone here understand or are you just all about Degrassi?
*Crowd cheers*
If I said Spike sang .... at Wheels funeral then you'd be all into it. (Spike and Wheels are characters from degrassi)
This is the vid she is referring to.. def a tear jerker :P http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=lrZyMptC2eQ
